Which updates are actually documented?

The documented Wanderburg update history includes a February Demo update, a July private-test announcement, and a July desert preview. These are different kinds of news, not three confirmed patches for a released Early Access build. As of the September 8, 2026 morning research snapshot in Beijing, the current public Early Access version and its final patch notes remain 待确认.

The official Steam announcement feed is the adopted source for the dates and the developers' descriptions of each event. Read the product and event type alongside the publication date: a Demo change concerns the trial version, while a preview introduces planned content. A newer news post does not, by itself, establish that a corresponding update has been installed in a public build.

The February Demo captain update

The February 27, 2026 announcement, signed by Marco from Randwerk, introduced Dieter the Drunk to the Demo. Its description pairs unstable direction with increased damage, giving the captain a clearly stated tradeoff. The announcement does not supply a damage percentage, so the useful historical summary is that handling becomes less stable in exchange for stronger damage, without attaching an invented multiplier.

This is a dated description of the Demo update, not a ranking of captains for Early Access. The supplied announcement does not establish that Dieter is strongest, identify an optimal weapon combination, or give a current balance comparison. Treat footage of a successful drunk-captain run as a particular run unless it also establishes the relevant version and comparison conditions; an impressive title is not a balance changelog.

03

The July private-test announcement

The July 9 official message discusses invitations to a VIP private test. That places it in the testing timeline rather than the list of confirmed public Demo patches. It should not be read as an announcement that all Steam users received that build, nor as a public Early Access release occurring before the planned September launch.

For a returning player, this distinction explains why news about testing may not describe the version available through a public product page. The research does not establish a public build number or a complete changelog for that private test. Its confirmed role here is evidence that the developers announced a testing stage, not a basis for reproducing private access instructions or claiming particular changes reached everyone.

The desert preview and version limits

The July 20 official message previews a desert environment, new enemies, and a boss. The July 16 official desert overview distributed by IGN introduces legged fortresses, moving turrets, and enemies in that environment. These details describe pre-release promotional material; the video's invitation to try the Demo and wishlist the game does not prove a desert patch was publicly released.

The announcement and IGN video represent the same official promotional context, not two independent playtests of released content. Their different publication dates do not establish a contradiction or identify the version in which the environment became playable. Actual public inclusion, the latest build number, and precise Early Access balance changes remain 待确认, so this history keeps released Demo news, private testing, and future-content previews separate.
