Understand the growth loop
Start Wanderburg by understanding its confirmed loop: drive a mobile castle, consume smaller targets, grow and choose modules. Historical Demo guides then add two useful learning priorities, steering the castle and relating upgrades to your existing configuration. A verified Early Access walkthrough, boss sequence and completion route remain 待确认.
Steam describes a single-player game built around consumption, growth and modular castle construction. That gives a first run a clear subject to learn without requiring an invented opening route: how moving the castle connects to reaching smaller targets and making upgrade choices. It does not establish that every visible target is consumable or that the same route works in every setting. Exact target thresholds and a current tutorial sequence are 待确认.
02
Read your starting configuration
The screenshot-backed taha.log() guide, published August 8 and updated August 9, 2026, separates Vehicle, Captain, Crew, Module and Artifact in Demo 1.5. Use those labels as a way to identify which part of the configuration a choice concerns. A vehicle selection, a captain effect and a weapon improvement should not be treated as interchangeable simply because all influence a build. The author explicitly describes an incomplete equipment observation, not a complete roster for the later game.
The same Demo 1.5 account distinguishes Automatic and Ability when discussing upgrades. Reading which behavior a choice changes is therefore more informative than remembering only the equipment name. For an unfamiliar option, the immediate question is whether it concerns the automatic action, an ability or another part of the setup. That is an interpretation of the documented categories, not a claim that every module uses an identical structure.
03
Learn movement before judging a build
The automatic transcript of Let's Play Everything's February 26, 2026 Demo video explains W for forward movement, S for reverse and A/D for turning at 00:01:08–00:01:17. At 00:01:42–00:01:46 the creator identifies Shift as acceleration. These are dated explanations in the commentary, not a verified default-key table for Early Access. Current bindings and remapping remain 待确认, and the dedicated controls article preserves the mouse-input disagreement in the sources.
This steering example matters when evaluating a castle because changing direction and moving forward are separate actions in the creator's explanation. A failed approach does not, by itself, establish that the selected weapon is weak. When reviewing your own attempt, distinguish difficulty steering toward a target from uncertainty about the upgrade you selected. This is a way to identify the decision you are learning, not a tested maneuver or a guaranteed survival technique.
04
Health, recovery and mobility
The automatic transcript of Chrisp44s' March 3, 2026 Demo tutorial discusses recovery at 00:01:04–00:01:40. The recorded commentary describes strengthening ramming at 00:05:07 and 00:13:32, and compares health with mobility at 00:07:36–00:08:06. The useful detail is that these decisions address different needs within one run rather than forming a universal damage-only sequence. The precise build number and any equivalent Early Access values are 待确认.
Use that example to formulate a concrete question before judging an upgrade: are you comparing a damage choice, a recovery choice or a movement choice? An observed preference for recovery does not prove that health is always inferior, just as the ram upgrades do not prove every castle should ram. Keep the creator's existing configuration attached to the decision when interpreting the tutorial. No controlled win-rate comparison was supplied for replacing one of those choices with another.
05
Separate this run from the next
The official description lists vehicles, artifacts and captains among between-run unlocks. Keep that longer-term expansion separate from the upgrades selected during a particular fight or run. After an attempt, a useful summary is the configuration you began with, the upgrade types you chose and whether steering, damage or survival was the unresolved issue. This is a review structure, not a statement about persistent gold, guaranteed rewards or save transfer.
This guide reflects the morning of September 8, 2026 in Beijing, before the planned 21:00 Early Access release. Actual launch, Demo save inheritance and current difficulty unlocks were 待确认 in the supplied snapshot. Demo 1.5 and the February–March videos are historical references with different levels of version detail. They support learning the documented decisions, but not presenting a complete current-game walkthrough.
