Officially supported input methods
Wanderburg officially supports playing with a mouse, keyboard or controller. A February 2026 Demo commentary identifies W/S movement, A/D turning, Shift acceleration and Tab for viewing controls. The complete current Early Access mapping and remapping procedure remain 待确认.
Input support is not a promise that every controller model works identically or that every action is available through the mouse alone. The official Steam wording establishes the supported input categories but does not supply a complete binding table. The following key descriptions come from dated Demo accounts, with their limitations retained. They should not be presented as a tested configuration for a later release.
02
Keyboard observations from the Demo
In Let's Play Everything's February 26, 2026 video, the recorded commentary explains W to move forward, S to reverse and A/D to turn at 00:01:08–00:01:17. It identifies Shift as acceleration at 00:01:42–00:01:46 and Tab as a way to view controls at 00:13:20. This is a transcript-based record of the creator's explanation, not a fresh inspection of the game's control screen. The exact Demo build and the corresponding Early Access defaults are 待确认.
These descriptions distinguish forward movement from changing the castle's facing. A/D should therefore be described as turning in this account, not silently relabeled as strafing or camera movement. The February 24, 2026 4Gamers hands-on also reports WASD movement and Shift acceleration, supporting a historical keyboard reference. The exact patches were not aligned, so that agreement does not establish the default keys for every version.
03
Mouse movement is not turret aiming
The 4Gamers editor reports mouse click-to-move in the February Demo, while acceleration and other active abilities require keyboard input in that account. By contrast, Let's Play Everything's commentary at approximately 00:01:17 says the mouse does not seem to do anything at that moment. Those are different player observations, not a conclusive finding that mouse input was absent. The relevant settings, exact versions and current click-to-move behavior remain 待确认.
A historical developer interview helps distinguish the actions but does not resolve the movement disagreement. In the Gamescom 2025 interview published by Vidya Gaem Awards PLUS on December 5, 2025, the interviewee describes trying mouse-aimed turrets and later removing that extra aiming layer to simplify controls at 01:47–02:04. The supplied research read the channel's human-corrected German subtitles; English subtitles were unavailable. Removing an experimental aiming action does not establish that all mouse movement was removed.
04
Controller design and remapping limits
At 02:05–02:20 in the same interview, the developer describes usually having four abilities or modules corresponding to four controller buttons. This is historical design commentary, not a verified fixed slot limit or a current controller-button map. No specific modern controller model or accessibility layout is established by that remark. Treat the explanation as context for simplified input, not instructions for configuring a device.
Remapping is especially uncertain in the February gameplay commentary. At 00:01:50 the creator thinks rebinding is possible, but at 00:13:22 expresses the opposite view. That inconsistency cannot support an invented settings path, nor does it prove the feature is absent. The current remapping interface and mouse-mode selection remain 待确认.
The source snapshot is from the morning of September 8, 2026 in Beijing, before the planned 21:00 Early Access opening. Actual release and a current-version control-screen verification were 待确认 at that point. This page therefore provides official input categories and attributed historical keys without promising a tested troubleshooting solution. Neither a video title nor an old design interview establishes that a controller problem has been fixed.
